ABOUT BRUSH COUNTRY INVESTMENTS

In 1978, Hector Guerra, Sr. and his wife Alicia founded Guerra Construction in Pharr, Texas. Like most businesses, the Guerras started slowly by developing lots and building homes. The quality of the construction, however, launched them in the industry and has helped the business grow to the reputable company it is today, all the while maintaining itself as a family owned operation. Over the last 20 years, Guerra Construction has developed 9,000 lots and built 1,500 homes in the Rio Grande Valley. Recently, for his hard work and commitment to value and quality, Mr. Guerra, Sr. was honored with the Business Person of the Year by the Pharr Chamber of Commerce.

In 2000, Hector Guerra, Jr. MD returned permanently to the family business after successfully completing his training as emergency physician. Hector Jr. had begun investing in the business with his father 2 years prior to his involvement. However, now that he was home, he became more dedicated to the trade and in 2001 formed Brush Country Investments, LLC, which is now the Guerra’s primary development company. The Guerras are still building 25-30 homes a year but the primary focus has now shifted to residential and commercial land development.

Since the establishment of Brush Country Investments, there have been numerous subdivisions developed around the Rio Grande Valley: Monte Grande Estates in San Juan, Crystal Estates, El Dorado Estates, Los Senderos Subdivision and Northgate Estates in Pharr, Discovery Estates II and Falcon’s Landing in Edinburg, and The Crossings Master Planned Community in McAllen. Also, currently under development in Harlingen is Pelican’s Landing which brings the total number of lots developed by Brush Country to almost 2,000
